Courses Available At 11 Learning Centers
FlightSafety International is now offering more than 100 courses approved for education benefits by the U.S. department of Veterans Affairs at 11 Learning Centers located across the country.
“FlightSafety is proud to support our veterans and to thank them for their service,” said David Davenport, Executive Vice President. “We worked with the U.S. Veterans Affairs Department to qualify more than 100 of our courses to help our veterans prepare for a career in the business and commercial aviation industry or to enhance their current skills.”
The approved courses are available to veterans who wish to pursue a career as a professional pilot or initial or recurrent training for experienced pilots under many VA benefit programs. National Guard members, reservists and active duty military may also qualify for substantial assistance for FlightSafety training.
Type-specific training is offered on a wide variety of aircraft built by Airbus Helicopters, Bell Helicopter, Bombardier, Dassault, Gulfstream, Leonardo Helicopters, Sikorsky and others. Non-aircraft-specific training provided by FlightSafety such as ATP CTP, instrument ratings, multi-engine certification, airline transport flight instructor and dispatcher are also approved by the VA.
FlightSafety continues to work with Veterans Affairs to expand the number of available training programs and locations.
Those interested should apply to the VA for a Certificate of Eligibility to see which programs are available to them. Veterans utilizing Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33) are only required to prepay the difference between the maximum yearly benefit and the total course cost. Training programs for veterans are approved on a state-by-state basis, in the state where the training is offered.
