Prop Failure Humbles Kitfox

Old Guys Handle It Just Fine, Walk Away

Nearly a century and a half of life experience came together when a Kitfox IV (file photo) lost a significant portion of its prop on Monday. ANN News-Spy Darwin told us the instructor, 82 years young, and his 67-year-old student were uninjured after "part of the propeller came off." The Kitfox, a great short/slow lander, came down in an alfalfa field, snagged the gear a little, and upended. Only the most minor of injuries were reported.
