Aura Aero Integral E Given EASA Permit To Fly

EASA Grants 'Permit to Fly' for Aura Aero Integral E

EASA has granted AURA AERO the "Approval for Flight Conditions for Permit to Fly" for its innovative two-seater electric aircraft, the INTEGRAL E.

This significant step, announced at the conclusion of the AERO Friedrichshafen 2024 event, paves the way for the forthcoming flight test campaign in France, as the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) will now issue the necessary authorization based on this permit.

INTEGRAL E, the latest addition to the INTEGRAL family of aircraft, which includes the INTEGRAL R and INTEGRAL S, both powered by single piston engines, represents a pivotal achievement in electric aviation. This aircraft not only showcases the advancements in electric powertrain technologies but also AURA AERO's commitment to sustainable aviation solutions. The INTEGRAL E is designed to cater to both conventional taildragger and tricycle landing gear configurations, with a specific focus on light aviation and aerobatics.

The journey to this milestone began with the aircraft's unveiling at the Paris Air Show last June, followed by a rigorous ground test campaign earlier this year. These tests have been critical in refining the electric power architecture that will propel INTEGRAL E through its flight tests and into eventual commercial production. The successful completion of these tests will enable INTEGRAL E to join the elite ranks of electric aircraft certified under the CS-23 category, a standard for smaller, simpler aircraft.

Jérémy Caussade, co-founder, President, and Chief Engineer of AURA AERO, expressed his enthusiasm for this achievement: "The entire AURA AERO team is very proud to reach this new milestone today in the INTEGRAL adventure. We are looking forward to seeing our new electric plane take off. The INTEGRAL family is already a great success. Let's decarbonize light aviation!"

This milestone not only signifies a significant technological leap but also aligns with the broader industry movement towards reducing carbon emissions in aviation. As AURA AERO prepares for the inaugural flight of INTEGRAL E in the coming weeks, the focus remains on demonstrating the viability of electric aircraft for everyday use in light aviation, heralding a new era of eco-friendly air travel.
