Sonex Accident Claims Life of Pilot

A Saturday morning accident has claimed the life of an 87 year old flyer retuning home from a short cross-country flight. According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the single-engine experimental Sonex went down in a wooded field while attempting a landing in NE Ohio. Identified as killed in the crash, Robert McGrath of Louisville, OH, reportedly departed Yoder Airport in Stark County, flew to Salem and was in the process of a return when the accident occurred at 1053 local time. McGrath was the only occupant in the impact, which took place in Nimishillen Township, some 5 SM E of Canton, OH.
