Jet IN Unveils New MKE FBO

Happy Days in the Cream City

On 25 April 2023, Milwaukee-headquartered Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) Jet IN announced the completion and grand opening of its new business and general aviation facility on Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport (MKE).

The $11-million FBO complex features a ten-thousand-square-foot passenger terminal, a forty-thousand-square-foot aircraft hangar, a ten-thousand-square-foot aircraft maintenance facility, and more than three-acres of dedicated ramp space.

Jet IN CEO Joseph Crivello stated: "Jet IN brings a new level of service to Milwaukee's business and general aviation community and will offer a wide variety of capabilities to the entire airport community. The completion of the Jet IN facility also represents a significant capital investment made in support of our affiliated Jet OUT aircraft charter and co-ownership programs. Now, from the moment that our co-owner and charter clients park their car through the moment that they return home, we can provide the best possible experience to our customers."

The completion of Jet IN’s new facility occasions the first purpose-built, general and business aviation facility erected at MKE in more than three decades.

MKE airport director Brian Dranzik remarked: "We're happy to welcome Jet IN as the newest FBO at MKE. It's exciting that the Airport has attracted a new local business to create jobs and new economic development opportunities. This state-of-the-art facility brings a new general aviation option to Milwaukee and will provide a first-class experience for visitors to our community."

Jet IN’s investment supports the creation of jobs in the Milwaukee area. To date, Jet In and Jet OUT—the latter entity being Jet In’s air-charter sister company—have collectively hired upwards of fifty full-time employees. The entirety of the companies’ W-2 personnel receives health insurance, retirement, and other benefits—such as the ability to participate in the organization’s employee stock program. Salaried employees average $70,660 per-year and hourly employees average $23.75.

The Jet IN MKE facility offers an array of 365-day-a-year aviation services and passenger and flight-crew amenities, to include an exclusive sky lounge overlooking the airport’s main east-west runway, an exercise facility equipped with a shower and lockers, a spacious pilot lounge and snooze rooms, and Tesla Model 3 courtesy cars. The location’s services include but are not limited to type I & IV deicing, catering, lavatory service, full-service Jet-A and Avgas, GPU, potable water service, and quick-turns.

The newly-completed, forty-thousand-square-foot, heated hangar features a 28-foot clear-height door capable of accommodating the largest ultra-long range business jets such as Gulfstream’s G650 and Bombardier’s Global 7500. The hangar is available to Jet IN base tenants and transient aircraft alike.

The ten-thousand-square-foot aircraft maintenance facility is leased to Jet OUT, which operates a fleet of private business aircraft offering direct-to-destination travel through the company’s co-ownership program.

For purpose of minimizing energy consumption and reducing the carbon footprint of the complex, Jet IN’s MKE facility was constructed using environmentally friendly and sustainable building practices

The aircraft hangars are insulated to high R values and are heated with an in-floor hydronic system. Subject architecture significantly reduces the amount of energy required to heat the hangars, while keeping the heat source in the vicinity of the aircraft and people requiring warmth. Facility lighting is provided by dint of LED fixtures exclusively. What’s more, Jet IN MKE’s aircraft tugs and power carts are solely electrically powered.
