How Much Does THAT One Cost?

Conklin & De Decker Releases Updated Aircraft Cost Evaluator

Conklin & de Decker has released its latest update to the industry standard for operating costs, the Aircraft Cost Evaluator. The handbook/CD ROM software package contains complete and accurate direct costs, fixed costs and annual budgets. Fractional ownership data is included. In addition to the operating costs, the ACEWin+ software contains a library of information with pilot reports, aircraft interior and exterior diagrams drawn to scale, photos and histories.

The latest edition, the 41st, has over 380 jets, turboprops, helicopters and piston aircraft. In this revision, Conklin & de Decker added sixteen aircraft: Jets: Bombardier Global XRS, Cessna Citation XLS, and Gulfstream G350 & G450. Turboprops: Cessna Soloy 207, DeHavilland DHC-2 Turbo Beaver & DHC-3 Turbo Otter, and Pilatus PC-6 (-27 &-34 powered). Helicopters: Eurocopter EC 135P2 & T2. Pistons: Adam A500, Cirrus SRV, Lancair Columbia 350 and New Piper 6X & 6XT. In addition, fixed costs such as salaries, insurance, hangar rates etc. have been updated. The average fuel price is relatively unchanged from the previous edition, but don't look for any stability in prices during the next few months. Pre-owned aircraft prices continue to fall, albeit much more slowly than in recent periods.

With the software, users can compare up to three aircraft side-by-side, edit nearly two-dozen variables, change currencies, and change measurement units to customize the reports.  A query function allows the user to narrow the selection to those that meet specific performance needs. Users can either print out the three-column comparison or print out pages for single aircraft formatted just like the handbook.

The price for the Aircraft Cost Evaluator with ACEWin+ is $525 for jets, $500 for turboprops or helicopters and $425 for the piston database. Shipping is $10 per database (US & Canada) and $40 per database (International deliveries). The price is for an annual subscription. That includes one original issue and one update. Multiple user licenses are available. Customized reports for individual aircraft can be ordered for between $29.95 and $99.95 for each aircraft.
