BAA Training Gains Approval To Provide Pilot Training In Russia

Market Is Expected To Rebound And Increase, Company Says

Northern-Europe-based BAA Training has renewed its Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rostaviatsia) approval for Boeing 737 CL Initial, Recurrent and Renewal training. The approval also grants use of BAA Training’s own Boeing 737 CL Full Flight Simulator for providing training to Russian airline operators.

It is estimated that currently there are approximately 500 Russian pilots holding licences for Boeing 737 CL. Therefore, the renewal of the BAA Training’s certificate will provide Russian aviation companies and pilots with an opportunity to renew licences and receive Boeing 737 CL type rating training of the highest standards at a geographically convenient location.

“Working with Russian carriers has always been an important part of BAA Training’s strategy. We are glad that we can contribute to safer travels of all passengers on all trending aircraft. The number of Boeing 737CL full flight simulators has been significantly decreasing in the European Union lately, thus we are especially pleased to be one of the few training providers in Europe to offer this type of training,” comments Egle Vaitkeviciute, CEO of BAA Training.

Russian aviation market is expected to rebound and increase. The Russian State Research Institute for Civil Aviation forecasts that the total mainline airliner fleet of 579 aircraft is predicted to expand by 140 units by 2020. As reported by Rosaviatsia, between January and June this year, air traffic over the Russian Federation increased by almost 8% reaching over 850,000 flights performed by Russian and foreign airlines. Moreover, the passenger traffic through Russian airports grew 19% to approximately 82 million. According to Egle Vaitkeviciute, the increasing indices of the market and the overall global tendencies in the aviation industry are promising aspects for further BAA Training’s business development opportunities in the country.

United by the passion for aviation and desire to ensure the efficient training solutions for both pilots and airlines, BAA Training provides Fixed and Rotary wing Ab Initio, Type Rating, Cabin Crew, Ground Handling, Flight Dispatcher, UAV/UAS training solutions.

Course completion certificates issued by BAA Training are valid in all EASA countries and Belarus, Cuba, Jordan, Libya, Laos, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Russia, Seychelles, Ukraine, Tanzania, Tajikistan, and Vietnam.
