It's All About Kids And Growing Our Future...
While at EAA AirVenture 2012, ANN News Editor, Tom Patton, met with Judith Rice, a captain with Think Global Flight. Patton asked about the purpose of Think Global Flight and what it is they are trying to achieve.
Rice explains that it’s an around-the-world flight in a Cirrus 20 to introduce kids all around the world about the importance of STEM education and how aviation fits in. Students from across the globe can follow the flight on the Think Global Flight website and, in that way, be connected with other students holding the same interests.
As the flight progresses, the website will be continually updated to document the progress, and at each stop students participate in the planning and preparation of the flight. The purpose of the flight is to show students the practical application of STEM subjects.
Rice goes on to explain how she became involved in the program. In this video you’ll see general aviation being used in a positive way to promote advanced education.
