H3 Dynamics Launches All-In-One Drone Pad

DBX-G7 Replaces Personnel with Multi-Use Docking, Charging, Data Landing Pad

H3 Dynamics has revealed what kept them busy during their 2020 lockdown, releasing a multifunction landing platform that aims to replace personnel in field deployment by completing all the regular upkeep of unmanned systems in the field. The system can update navigation information, charge batteries, store, and dock with the drone on its built in landing pad. Once attached, the system can retrieve, manage, process, and transmit data without direct human oversight.

The DBX was born from the difficulties of managing a widespread fleet of drones in their high-rise inspection systems. Tested in the sprawling Singapore metropolitan area, adjacent landing pads may be horizontally close, but placed atop skyscrapers separated by a long, meandering journey too expensive in man-hours for human upkeep. The DBX is an all-in-one drone technician and landing platform, completing the routine hassles of data and power management automatically. Automating the minutia saves expensive human attention for only the most important emergencies, ensuring expertise is applied where it's most needed.

The company has branched out through partnerships with SAP Connectivity to send automated work orders for units needing repair, as well as a joint effort with Thales to integrate real time air traffic integration for safer automated operation. DBX, if capable of achieving its promises, would be the cornerstone of autonomous air ecosystems, capable of operating without downtime, with support for systems up to 5-kg.

“What makes DBX really unique, is its open-architecture philosophy. Unlike other closed environments that restrict users to a single drone type – DBX can host professional drones from different manufacturers, and support multiple communication protocols and operating standards," said Taras Wankewycz, H3 Dynamics Founder and CEO.

That brand-agnostic support could see early widespread adoption for the working drone market. With infrastructure assessment, border surveillance, cleaning, or emergency response missions increasingly taken up by automated platforms, the DBX could see some very immediate uptake while the current labor shortage lasts.
