DAILY Audio Webcasts Coming Soon To ANN
For the very many of you who wrote so favorably about our
podcasting experiment at Oshkosh, we'd like you to know that we
heard you -- as you heard us... loud and clear.
ANN is in the final planning stages of its commitment to a
series of new audio products that can be accessed on your PC or
portable media device. This is an amazing medium and, to be honest,
we're surprised at how much fun we had working with it, not to
mention how well it was received at Oshkosh. This was particularly
notable in light of the fact that we sprung the podcasts on
everyone with NO notice since we weren't sure we'd be ready to
handle the process right up til the first day of the event. The
comprehensive nature of these "Aero-Casts" was not only highly
informative, but provided background that was just not possible via
the printed word. Through 'Aero-Casting' ANN can add incalculable
nuance to each day's news. We were particularly intrigued by the
capability of downloading a days's Aero-Casts (or even more) and
the easy way one could listen to them while listening to an iPod or
sitting in front of the PC. It was all pretty cool... and thousands
of you agreed that this was a valuable addition to ANN's Aviation
news line-up.
ANN is planning to
introduce two separate audio product lines... a series of daily
Aero-Casts consisting of 3 unique products and
comprehensive Special Aero-Casts for a number of the more pivotal
aviation events like Oshkosh, NBAA, the AOPA Expo and the like.
Our daily Program will consist of (at least) three separate
products... the first is a short synopsis of the previous 24 hours
of Aero-News, in brief, spanning only a few minutes (max) and in
size/format that will allow it to be mailed as part of a Daily
Aero-Cast subscription; a more comprehensive DAILY news product
that will cover the previous 24 hours of news in a somewhat more
detailed fashion, and a feature Aero-Cast that will center on one
of the more important subject or topics of the day in considerable
depth and detail.
- ANN's Daily 'Touch & Go' Aero-Cast: A
quick look at the most recent news of the day... short, succinct
and to the point. The usual Touch & Go takes but a few minutes
and is a summary, only, of the day's events. It only takes a few
minutes of your time and will be available by subscription,
shortly.
- ANN's Daily 'ANNRep'
Aero-Cast: The Daily ANN Report (ANNRep for short), is a
more comprehensive look at the day's news. We'll give you the whole
buzz... the news and features that occupy the forefront of aviation
news as well as solid background on the subjects that aviators and
other aviation professionals need to stay informed on.
- ANN's Daily 'ASR' Aero-Cast: ANN will be
offering a Daily 'Aero-News Special Report.' This involves a more
in-depth view of a story or two that dominated (or will be
dominating) the day's news. Far more detailed than any single story
in our standard ANN Daily Reports, this is a solid chance to get a
close look at the stories and topics that matter. ASR features may
include exclusive interviews with Aviation's Newsmakers, ANN's
Special Investigative reports and solid analysis of the stories
that will have undeniable impact on the world of aviation and
aerospace. We're tremendously excited about this particular product
in that it truly adds nuance and background to important breaking
news stories and personalities. While our current news format
allows for extensive reporting and information dissemination, ANN's
ASRs should set the bar even higher. ANN has become a pivotal force
in the world of aviation in the six years that have passed since we
undertook the immense task of becoming the aviation world's daily
news and information service... but with the all-new news services
we're offering as part of our Aero-Cast line-up, we expect to
become even more indispensable to the industry we serve.
Want To Help?
This is a new medium...
one that is growing in both scope and capability with each passing
day. Your insight and suggestions are important to us... not only
as to what you want to hear, but how you want it presented. We urge
you to be an active part of the process by keeping us updated as to
how you think we might serve you better.
Also; this is a pretty heavy-duty commitment on our part and while
we're adding staff to handle the additional chores this program
requires, we're on the lookout for additional staffers with solid
podcasting, radio and/or sound-editing and audio news-gathering
experience. If you think you might fit in, we'd love to hear from
you. Send your resume and work experience to publisher@aero-news.net.
