After the FAA administrator spoke at Oshkosh, EAA is asking its members to rally and provide a unified voice with our elected officials.

Earlier this year, a federal court determined that compensated flight instruction in experimental, limited, and primary category aircraft, even instruction obtained in an individual’s own aircraft, was contrary to FAA regulation. While the FAA has used letters of deviation authority (LODAs) and exemptions to temporarily address the issue, a long-term fix is years away under the normal rulemaking process. As more women enter the Aviation Maintenance industry, demographics that have historically reflected a mostly male workforce, are changing. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University plans to help to diversify the industry and has just added five new female instructors to its faculty. "Those faculty members bring an incredible wealth of knowledge to the department and our students,” said R. Eric Jones, associate professor and AMS chair. “Aviation maintenance science is different today than it was in past generations, and that is a good thing..." A very happy Piper Aircraft has announced an order for twenty (20) Pilot 100i single-engine trainers from Pennsylvania and Delaware based flyGATEWAY Aviation Institute. The order was received on the third day of EAA AirVenture 2021. flyGATEWAY, a Liberty University Flight Training Affiliate, will begin taking delivery of their first fourteen aircraft in January of 2022. The remaining six (6) aircraft will be delivered later in 2022. The aircraft will be spread across flyGATEWAY’s four locations and will support their Part 141 career pilot training program. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
