Woman's Purse Stolen In Indy Airport Security Line

Victim Had Been Directed To Full-Body Scanner

Proving that there are opportunistic thieves everywhere, a woman who had been directed to a full-body scanner at Indianapolis International Airport on Sunday had her purse stolen by another women in the security line.

The passenger from New York had placed her personal items on the conveyor belt for x-ray, but was then directed to the body scanner. When she went to retrieve her belongings, she discovered that her purse had been taken from the plastic bin.

Television station WRTV reports that a review of the security tapes identified the thief, Tatiana Brown from Virginia, who was later caught in another part of the terminal. Brown, who was traveling with her 3-year-old daughter, was arrested and charged with theft. The child was left in the custody of her grandparents.
