Former Shuttle Workers Hope To Make Atlantis Operational Again

Letter Sent To ANN Reveals 'Black' Program

ANN April 1st Special Edition

A plan formulated by a group of former NASA employees who live near the Kennedy Space Center to make space shuttle Atlantis flyable again has been revealed in a letter received by ANN.

In the letter, the group, which calls its self "Occupy Atlantis", says displaced workers on the shuttle program have been able to gain access to the shuttle processing facility and reverse the decommissioning of the orbiter. "We're getting the band back together again," the letter states. "We have the technology, we can rebuild her, and make her faster, stronger, and better than she was before."

The group said it has managed to acquire an unfinished external fuel tank and has re-designed it to be re-usable. It also has secretly developed new, more efficient solid rocket boosters. "Retiring the shuttle fleet was a national travesty," the letter states. "We have a working system with a lot of life left, and we're buying seats from the Russians to get into space? Really? And spending billions to basically re-create the Apollo program" Really?"

Former shuttle workers who were dispersed across the county have been filtering in to the area around the space center to be part of the program. NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said that he was unaware of the "Occupy Atlantis" movement. "I thought those guys were just going to work," he said.
