AeroSports Update: Viking Aircraft Engines Steps Up To The Plate

We’re Updating A Story About People Who Are Willing To Chip In When It Counts

Last week we covered a story about two groups who have banded together for a common goal. EAA Chapter 1083 and John Robinson, the founder of AV84all, have joined forces to build a Zenith CH 750 Cruzer in Salisbury, NC to benefit all pilots with disabilities. The EAA chapter members will launch a Zenith build-project on September 10, of this year at Rowan County Airport.

"EAA Chapter 1083 is literally making a dream come true for AV84all.org. Without their help it would take a lot longer to get this project off of the ground and they are making flying for the disabled a reality," said John Robinson, Founder of AV84all.org.

Zenith Aircraft will provide engineering oversight to help customize this Zenith CH 750 Cruzer to fit the needs of the pilots with disabilities involved in the project, but no matter how much Zenith does to help this project along, it’s not going to fly without an engine.

Now, something has been added to Robinson’s dream as Viking Aircraft Engines LLC has just announced their desire to join in the project by donating a firewall forward package which includes the following:

  • One Viking 130 Honda Based Aircraft Engine.
  • One Firewall Forward installation kit, including cowling and engine mount.
  • One set of Viking Engine Installation DVD's.
  • Engine related instrumentation with cockpit display.

John Robinson, of AV84all has gratefully accepted the offer. John, due to a spinal C7 injury is now unable to do things most people take for granted. Despite his injury, he has achieved so much and is eager to start this project. This year alone he has received his Sport Pilot certificate from Able Flight and, around the same time, came up with the idea for his organization. AV84all is a non-profit organization to help those with disabilities reach or get back to their Aviation goals.

Tax deductible donations are being accepted now for kit parts, tools, engine, and avionics for this project at the links below, or by contacting John Robinson at 704.302.3276.
