Utah Town Seeks To Ban All Helicopter Landings Within City Limits

Ordinance Had Previously Barred Only Operations From Heliports

Here's a town that is serious about trying to prevent helicopters from operating anywhere within its incorporated area.

So when Jeremy Johnson landed his helo near some property he'd recently purchased, a few of his neighbors took issue with the "dust and noise" which came along with the landing, and complained to city hall.

The Associated Press reports that Rockville Mayor Allen Brown plans to have the ordinance changed to specifically include a complete ban on helicopter operations within the city limits. Johnson said he'd like to discuss the matter with the city, but Brown said simply that there's nothing to be discussed.

In other words ... "Don't clutter the issue with a lot of facts ..."
