LaunchTech, LLC Offers Scholarship for Space Camp

Young Women Near Company Locations Offered Chance to Build on Aerospace Enthusiasm

LaunchTech LLC has announced the issuance of an educational program a bit outside the norm, that sees young underrepresented groups of interested teens attend space camp.

The company says its scholarship efforts assist in bringing more women to their industry in assisting with military, government, and corporate IT and software.

Launching Scholars is a program that aims to provide opportunities and scholarships for girls 15-18 who have an interest in Technology, Aviation, and Aerospace. Launching Scholars hopes to do its part in "ensuring a more diverse and inclusive workforce in STEM", as exhibited by their saying that they are "showing girls that the sky is NOT the limit." The scholarship is available to those near LaunchTech's Huntsville, Alabama or Buffalo, New York locations, with a deadline of January 26, 2022 for applications. The flagship scholarship will provide up to 12 girls from Western, NY, and North and Central Alabama with the opportunity to attend Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. For those requiring travel from Western New York to space camp, the initiative will also cover necessary airfare and accommodations for the Scholar and one parent or guardian.

“Buffalo, NY was the birthplace of LaunchTech, and in 2021 we opened a new location in Rocket City-Huntsville, Alabama. I wanted to bridge the gap and continue our support of STEM initiatives. With Service being one of our company’s core values, we couldn’t think of a better way to empower our future engineers, astronauts, and technologists.,” said Venus Quates, president, and CEO of LaunchTech.
