Aero-TV: 'We Learned A Lot Of Things' -- EAA Boss Jack Pelton on 2013’s Lessons

Jack Pelton Fills Us In The Lessons EAA Is Learning

Earlier in the fall, ANN named a few of the people planes and products that distinguished themselves at AirVenture 2013... via a few categories with intriguing names.

Under the category of "ALL The Right Moves," we named Jack Pelton as the winner -- Period. It was an opinion shared by many. Again, we couldn't say enough about this... He took over a mess and cleaned it up fast and right. We’ve rarely seen such a swift change in fortunes in aviation... especially when the chips were down... now, the big questions is... can he keep it going?

Well... at NBAA2013, we sat down with Jack to see what he's been learning since then... and it seems that he's used the time well. When we chatted with him last summer, EAA Chairman Jack Pelton opened his discussion of AirVenture 2013 with even more detail about the way that the FAA ran roughshod over the EAA barely two months ago... and also admitted that last year’s AirVenture showed that EAA had ‘lost its way...’

Still; EAA has made tremendous progress in the last year in the restoration of faith between this transitional organization and those who have supported it so long and so well.

Now... it seems that Jack is not only firmly fixed on building a solid future for EAA, but he';s going to rest much of his plans on a more innovative aviation world... along with a more innovative EAA.
