Airshow China Hopes To Increase International Exposure

Breitling Jet Team Among The Acts Invited For The Show

The China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Airshow China, is has its sights set on more international exposure and recognition. To achieve that, the country has invited a variety of precision flying acts to perform, including the Breitling Jet Team.

The show, which opens November 13, is the only government-endorsed international aerospace trade show in China, according to an article appearing in AOL Travel. The South China Morning Post reports that Yang Ziangang, vice general manager of the Zhuhai Airshow, said that the show is sold out of exhibit space. Over 600 exhibitors from 39 countries plan to display their wares and services at the show.

Analysts project that China will need some 5,400 new airliners over the next 20 years. China's domestic C919 is thought to be one of things attracting so many exhibitors to the show, which will feature aviation products, trade talks, technology displays, and a western-style air show.

The Breitling Jet Team and other performers, including the wingwalking team and Jetman Yves Rossy said last month that they would spend much of the 2013 air show season in Asia. ANN Reported at the time that Breitling Aviation Director, Nigel Lamb flew the first civilian aerobatic team in China in 1996. "There is such an incredible fascination and enthusiasm for aviation in China, the team is well remembered even to this day. I'm looking forward to going back with all three teams and three entirely different spectacles from Europe. Hopefully, this is just the start of the adventure. We're looking into keeping the Breitling Jet Team in Asia for 2013 and organizing a series of tours in the region."

"While we are here we want to make the most of our opportunities, we will miss the European 2013 season, but it will be exciting to explore new countries and display to new crowds," said team leader Jacques Bothelin. "We'll be back in Europe early 2014 with some great experiences to relay."
