Eclipse Aerospace has gotten the green light from the FAA for the production of its new model 550 VLJ.
This week, Hawker Beechcraft sent out notices to an additional 350 Wichita employees, saying that it was making changes to previously planned production schedules and "resizing our workforce." For most, making a solo trip around the planet would be an accomplishment in any aircraft. Word came in last Thursday that "extreme pilot" Matev Lenarcic touched down back in Slovenia after successfully circumnavigating the World in a Pipistrel Virus SW 914 Turbo. Thanks to the work of a coalition of aviation associations, the NTSB is working to revise several regulations dealing with the Board’s review of emergency certificate actions taken by the FAA. The FAA has awarded several new STCs to Nextant Aerospace for its 400XT airplane. Among those are approvals for additional avionics options, many of which help to pave the way for final certification by EASA. We have ALL this and SO MUCH MORE in this week's edition of AIRBORNE!
As always, PLEASE keep sending us your feedback and ideas... you have no idea how important that is to us as we evolve the Airborne mission. As we listen to your critiques, we're getting a far better idea as to how to tweak and fine-tune future Airborne programming to fit your needs. We think you're going to like what we have in mind for the future.
