Brazilian AF Selects Rockwell Collins To Support Flight Operations

Renews Contract Covering Fleet Of 13 Aircraft

Grupo de Transporte Especial (GTE), the Special Transport Group of the Brazilian Air Force (Força Aérea Brasileira), has renewed its contract for Rockwell Collins’ ARINCDirect flight support services to cover its fleet of 13 aircraft, which includes an Airbus A319, and Embraer ERJ145, E-190 and Legacy 600 aircraft.

The contract provides GTE with flight planning services that allow the group to create and file electronic flight plans anywhere worldwide, all while monitoring weather conditions and using aircraft performance data and the latest atmospheric forecasts for the most precise fuel burns and time calculations. GTE is responsible for the national and international flight transportation of the President of the Republic, ministers of state, and high-level national and foreign authorities.

“It is critical that these types of flights follow the most efficient routes based on reliable and accurate flight planning to ensure passengers reach their destinations on time,” said Alan Prowse, vice president and managing director, Americas for Rockwell Collins. “This agreement demonstrates our ability to meet the specific needs of government aviation customers and is an excellent example of how we continue to expand our services to this market.”

Rockwell Collins’ ARINCDirect flight planning solution utilizes a flexible and intuitive web-based tool that enables pilots and dispatchers to access it from anywhere in the world with just an electronic device and Internet connection. In addition, customers have access to ARINCDirect’s 24/7 flight operations center. Other optional flight support services available through this comprehensive suite include international trip support, cabin connectivity and flight operations management.
