FreeFlight Systems Receives AFAC Validation For Avail Performance Package

A Complete ADS-B Solution For Turboprop And Light Jet Aircraft

NextGen avionics manufacturer FreeFlight Systems announced today that the Company has successfully obtained Mexican Civil Aviation Federal Agency (AFAC – formally DGAC) validation of their AML STC for the Avail Performance Package, a complete ADS-B solution for turboprop and light jet aircraft. The Avail package is a cost-effective way to help aircraft owners and operators in Mexico and Central America meet the Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) requirements for mandated airspace.

“Expanding this solution to serve our Mexico and Latin American customer base was essential as we want to ensure that we are meeting the demands of our global customers,” said Pete Ring, FreeFlight Systems’ vice president of Business Development and Chief Strategy Officer. “Providing cost-effective solutions makes equipage more approachable and gives operators the ability to equip without taking on a substantial financial burden.”

Included in the Avail package is dual 1090 Mode S/ES transponders, the RANGR-RX/G ADS-B receiver with an internal WAAS/GPS, integrated WiFi, and a single control head. These remote-mounted solutions provide turboprops and light jet aircraft a modular, all-in-one solution ADS-B equipage solution.

The FDL-1090-TX is one of the smallest Mode S/ES transponders available today – the unit can be mounted anywhere within the pressure vessel and has minimal impact on aircraft weight. The control head’s intuitive user interface features positive control knobs and push buttons for squawk codes designation, fault annunciation, and IDENT and VFR operations on the sunlight-readable, backlit LED display. It fits in a standard two-and-a-quarter inch instrument mounting, keeping panel disruption at a minimum.

The TSO-certified RANGR-RX/G serves as the high-integrity position source required for ADS-B and also provides pilots the option to receive ADS-B In data, both modernizing the aircraft cockpit and drastically improving situational awareness. The RANGR-RX/G offers clients an installed solution that provides inflight ADS-B In information to a multitude of preferred MFDs, mobile EFBs, and tablet devices.
