General Aviation Time Share Program Expands To FMY

Time Pieces says it's bringing "Stick 'n Rudder" flying to Page Field (FMY) in Ft. Myers, Florida. Created to provide tailwheel aircraft availability to a large group of people by eliminating the hassles of sole ownership, Time Pieces will expand its franchise program into Florida this summer.

Glenn and Kristin Frith will operate the new Time Pieces franchise location. Glenn, who currently operates an innovative charter operation using Pilatus aircraft, said, "Our Time Pieces operation will provide a different dimension to our existing business. By offering owner-flown fractional options in a Piper Super Cub, pilots can now use an airplane much like they would a motorcycle or boat to site see and tour around sunny Florida. It's what I call 'fun flying!' And, to make it even better, we eliminate all the hassles associated with aircraft ownership."

"Glenn has wanted a Super Cub as long as I have known him. After purchasing the Super Cub, earlier this year, we had so much fun with the plane he thought we should share this experience with others," Kristin said when asked about the new business venture. "Having monitored the Time Pieces program for several months and noting that they had all of the basics for the co-ownership operation already defined, he decided it was the perfect option. Why re-invent the wheel? Glenn has already been through the hassles of start up research with the charter operation and is looking forward to using a proven system instead of spending months or possibly years on research. We hope to go through the extensive training program that Time Pieces provides and have our franchise operational within weeks. "

"Florida is a perfect location for one of our franchises," said Ginger Davidson, President and Founder of Time Pieces. "Not only is the weather wonderful year round but the pilot base, in Florida, is large.  The Super Cub is a "fun flying" aircraft and I expect for Glenn and Kristin's first airplane to be sold out quickly."

In April 2003, Time Pieces started operations at Mt. Comfort Airport (MQJ), Indianapolis.  The company created a program that allows more pilots to experience the thrill of"stick and rudder" flying while potentially saving many aircraft from the status of hangar queen or even worse, static display in a museum.  Many aviation enthusiasts are looking to the new Sport Pilot program to help keep the cost of leisure flying to a minimum.  Time Pieces is looking to their program as an option to keep the cost of flying minimized while allowing those that operate and manage them to be successful.

When asked about the company's recent expansion, Davidson said the following,"We have spent a tremendous amount of time implementing standards and safety. To date, we have been extremely successful at both, as we are nearing 2500 hours of accident free operation in tailwheel aircraft since our inception 30 months ago. The expansion has been slow but the rewards have been extremely significant. For example, a friend recently returned from a visit to an airport that operates another Time Pieces aircraft. He saw our Time Pieces cub taxiing in with two men aboard. He commented that they appeared to be two of the happiest men in the world as they both had smiles from ear to ear. That's what we are all about – having fun while flying."
