Embraer Selects Kollsman EVS II System For Lineage 1000

System Cert Expected In 2010; Lineage Deliveries To Start Soon

Embraer has selected Elbit Systems of America, LLC, to supply its Kollsman EVS II (Enhanced Vision System) for the Lineage 1000 jet. This optional item will be offered in combination with Rockwell Collins’ Head-Up Guidance System, model 5600E.

"We welcome Elbit Systems of America as the supplier of the Kollsman EVS II for the Lineage 1000 jet," said Henrique Langenegger, Embraer Vice President, Programs–Executive Jets. "This system improves the capability of business aircraft to execute precision and non-precision approaches and safely land in fog, rain, snow, and other reduced visibility conditions."

The optional Kollsman EVS II, combined with Rockwell Collins’ head-up display, will also provide Lineage 1000 customers with improved situational awareness during all phases of flight and on-ground operations. The system’s certification is expected by 2010.

Furthermore, the Lineage 1000’s integrated Primus Epic avionics suite offers pilots such cutting-edge technologies as fly-by-wire, auto-throttle, weather radar with turbulence detection, and five Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) multifunction control screens.

At the present time, there are four Lineage 1000 jets at PATS Aircraft Completions, a division of DeCrane Aerospace having their interiors installed. Based on Embraer's E-190 commercial airliner, the first Lineage 1000 is due for delivery later this year, upon certification by the FAA.
