TRU Simulation + Training Awarded Contract Through UKMFTS Program
TRU Simulation + Training has been awarded a contract to provide maintenance training courseware for the T-6C Texan II aircraft for Affinity Flying Training Services. Affinity is the Fixed Wing Aircraft Service Provider (ASP) under the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) program, which will provide flying training for military aircrews from the UK’s Armed Forces.
The T-6C Texan II aircraft is made by Beechcraft Defense Company, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation. The project is expected to be complete by December 2016. The courseware will train technicians and engineers from Affinity– a joint venture between KBR and Elbit Systems. Upon completion, the courseware will meet EASA regulatory standards.
The courseware includes development of the following four distinct T-6C courses along with interactive training for each maintenance trade:
- Engineering Familiarization Course
- Airframe/Powerplant/General (APG) 5-Skill Level Course
- Avionics/Electrical 5-Skill Level Course Egress/Life
- Support 5-Skill Level Course.
The courseware will be developed through TRU’s state-of the-art Learning Content Management System and will include 2D and 3D graphic representations along with system simulations for a highly realistic and customizable training experience.
“TRU’s extensive experience as the maintenance training partner of choice to the United States Air Force ensures we have the capabilities to exceed Affinity’s expectations, said Kyle Crooks, Vice President and General Manager of TRU’s Mission and Maintenance Training division. "Through close collaboration with Beechcraft Defense, the customer is able to receive a total training solution and benefit from in-depth knowledge that this OEM relationship brings.”
