Flight Path Museum LAX Relaunches Sim Classes

Popular Flight Path Flyers Program Put Together For High School And College Students

Flight Path Museum LAX has relaunched their popular Flight Path Flyers program for high school and college students that offers an introduction to flight training taught by commercial airline pilots.

Flight Path Museum LAX brought the program back to serve as an introduction to flight training taught by commercial airline pilots. The classes allow youth to explore the first steps toward a potential aviation career.

Flight Path has purchased new computer systems specifically designed for flight training. The first series of Saturday morning classes will begin on October 15 and will be taught by Karen Goodman, who flies Boeing 747 aircraft with Atlas Air.

“All high school and undergraduate college students are invited to apply,” said Agnes Huff, PhD, Flight Path Museum president.

“We especially encourage applications from young women and members of minority groups who are currently underrepresented in professional aviation careers.”

Simulated aircraft piloting experience and related instruction are included in the program. Classes do not include flying lessons. However, several previous graduates have gone on to complete flight instruction, make their solo flights and earn their pilot licenses.

Applications for the Flight Path Flyers program are available through October 6, with a course fee of $120. A limited number of scholarships are available for students with financial hardship. Successful applicants will be notified by October 12.
