EzyCopter ultra-light
helicopter plant will be ready by end of 2004
Yoshine Tech. Co., a Taiwanese ultralight helicopter company, is
nearing completion of their new factory in the Central Taiwan
Science Park by the end of 2004, and the company intends to begin
production of their Ezy Copter ultralight helicopter in 2005. This
according to Yoshine president Lin Cheng-Hsiang, who made the
statements at a recent shareholder's meeting attended by the Asian
Financial Times.
According to Lin, the company has 300 firm orders for the small
aircraft, and will display it at an aircraft show in Taiwan in
August. In addition, the company has chosen Aerospace Industrial
Development Corp. to manufacture two new aircraft, including a
model to be used for flight training.
The Taiwanese
government recently implemented new laws to allow ultralight
aircraft to fly in its airspace, and Yoshine's president believes
that this new law will be key to the company's future success. In
addition to local sales, Lin expressed confidence that agreements
signed with LA Systems of the United Kingdom, Helitrade in Italy,
Remax Group in the US and Plasgold Enterprise in the Phillippines
will generate more than sufficient sales to put the company firmly
on the road to success.
The Ezy Copter helicopter is equipped with dual rotors and dual
engines, which the company says boosts its safety. Yoshine claims
the aircraft is easy to operate, and is available at an extremely
compeitive price of approximately $50,000, versus its competition,
priced at an average of $150,000.
