C-130J and LM-100J Will Be The Facility's Focus
Lockheed Martin is responding to increasing global demand for C-130J military and LM-100J commercial flight training with a new International Training Center (ITC) to be located at the corporation's Marietta, Georgia, Aeronautics facility.
Featuring academic classroom space and simulator facilities to support the full spectrum of aircrew training, the center will support training needs including initial qualification, refresher courses, instructor qualification and mission training. The center is currently under construction and will open in 2018.
The ITC is co-located with the manufacturing line for the C-130J - the world's most advanced military tactical airlifter - and the LM-100J, a civil multi-purpose air freighter. This location is easily accessible for domestic and international customers with its proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, which serves more than 60 international cities in 50 countries.
"With our experience as the C-130J and LM-100J manufacturer, and decades of training expertise, we're investing to deliver an integrated solution to prepare the next generation of air mobility pilots and aircrews," said Jon Rambeau, vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin Training and Logistics Solutions. "As military and commercial customers modernize and expand their fleets, we see an opportunity to offer increased value to our customers through this International Training Center."
Lockheed Martin's International Training Center cements Lockheed Martin's commitment to equipping pilots and aircrews worldwide with the skills and training to complete the air mobility mission, the company said in a news release.
