Northrop Grumman Gets USAF IS Contract

Goal: Increase Readiness Of Existing Weapons Systems

Northrop Grumman Corporation has been selected by the US Air Force to provide advanced information technology upgrades to increase the readiness and sustainability of existing weapon systems.

The Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMIS) is the central, common source of all unclassified maintenance information for Air Force weapon systems.

The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a potential value of $49.8 million over three years to Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector. The contract is administered by the Materiel Systems Group at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Under the terms of the contract, Northrop Grumman will provide data services including government-furnished hardware operation, help-desk support, database administration, configuration management, system testing and applications software development. The company will assist in the Air Force's effort to migrate REMIS to the Global Combat Support System, Air Force Integration Framework that will allow users to share data across various domains, such as supply, maintenance and transportation.

"Northrop Grumman will provide a cost-effective and comprehensive solution to the Air Force to complete a seamless migration to an integrated framework," said Kent Schneider, president of Northrop Grumman IT's Defense Enterprise Solutions business unit. "We supported the modernization efforts of REMIS for the Air Force for the past four years and look forward to continued success on the project."

Work on the contract will be done at the Northrop Grumman location in Beavercreek (OH).

Northrop Grumman Information Technology, headquartered in Herndon (VA), is a trusted IT leader and premier provider of advanced IT solutions, engineering and business services for government and commercial clients. The company's technological leadership spans such areas as homeland security solutions, secure wireless, cyber and physical assurance, IT and network infrastructure, managed services, knowledge management, modeling and simulation, and geospatial intelligence solutions.
