Travel Company Offers Contest For Suborbital Flight With A Star

Is there a celebrity you'd like to see sent to space ... and allowed to come back? The collective buying travel site TripAlertz.com has picked a different kind of "A" list of celebrities ... and is asking the public to select one to be sent on a suborbital trip through a partnership with XCOR Aerospace. Registered member of the site will also have an opportunity to win a seat on a flight.

Voting is free on the TripAlertz site, and those who cast their ballot will be automatically entered to win an all-expense paid trip to Orlando, FL, including VIP tickets to Kennedy Space Center, a three-night premium hotel stay, meals and airfare. Those who vote in the next month will be entered to win the same star treatment as the winning celebrity - an "out of this world" trip through the ozone themselves.

The TripAlertz community will collaborate to choose the celebrity worthy of the space odyssey. Voters can cast one ballot per person for up to three of the nominees, and once a star receives 50,000 votes, two champions will be announced: the winning voter who'll be headed to Orlando, as well as the top-voted celeb who's headed for the stars.

The member who wins their own free space trip will be drawn live on broadband-streamed TV at the company's Summer Solstice Party on June 21, 2011. Same as the winning celebrity, they'll receive a five-night stay at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa during training and preparation, medical evaluation and screening, a cancellation insurance policy, and a ride aboard the Lynx Suborbital reusable space plane.

The list of nominees includes Lance Armstrong, Joy Behar, Stephen Colbert, Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Fallon, Lady Gaga, Kathie Lee Gifford, Gayle King, Ashton Kutcher, Conan O'Brien, Charlie Sheen, Jon Stewart, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West.

And remember, the celebrity selected will be allowed to return to earth ....
