Also: New ANN Staff, Mask Mandates Continue, SWA 737 Hits Trespasser, Practical Aviation & Aerospace Law

Piper Aircraft, who hasn't exactly been vocal of late, has started speaking up... via a mysterious YouTube video posted Friday. Outside of the video, itself, the description, only says, "This will change everything. For everyone. Forever. Keep an eye on our page to see how aviation history will be made." The video, just under 30 seconds in length, shows an orange jump-suited test pilot walking out to what appears to be an M600 airframe, with a parachute slung over his shoulder, to head out on a flight that is taking place at 0433... an ungodly hour... even for test flying... unless you don't want to be seen. The aircraft, N524LT, is seen taxiing out under cover

Almost four years after the FAA established rules for the commercial operation of small UAS, a new report by AUVSI found that nearly 4,000 operators across all 50 states have been granted waivers to go beyond current regulations. First responders across the country received about 20 percent of all waivers granted to organizations (398), which demonstrates growing interest and need for public safety applications enabled by UAS, including search and rescue and firefighting at night. DJI has just introduced th

Enshrinement Dinner and Ceremony On Hold

With due regard to the safety and health of our Enshrinees, participants, attendees, staff and the city of Dayton, the Board of Trustees of the National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) has made the difficult decision to postpone the induction of the Class of 2020. "The on-going concern regarding the coronavirus pandemic, the unknowns regarding travel and unease in seeking sponsorship when many of our supporters have been hard hit economically are among the reasons that make it impossible for the NAHF to hold our Enshrinement event at a level that adequately honors our Class of 2020" according to President and CEO Amy Spowart. "We appreciate the understanding and support of the Class of 2020, participants, spon
