Kansas Man Not Injured In Ultralight Crash

In Fact, He Wasn't Even Aboard The Aircraft

In a bad case of mistaken identity, a Salina, Kansas man was misidentified by the Kansas Highway Patrol as being involved in an accident involving an ultralight aircraft, and having been transported to a Wichita hospital in critical condition.

OK... I've said it before and I pray that I don't have to say it again... but this story could NOT get more bizarre. In a last ditch attempt to fly 'something... anything...' in order for the Camarillo Airshow to preserve the appearance of the act once espoused by the so-called Unlimited Air Race Challenge, the FAA has agreed to let the 'team' fly an exceedingly simple program at this weekend's event. How simple? How about a few passes well away from the spectators, straight and level, with no aerobatics and no aggressive maneuvering... kinda like the flying everyone will see from any private (or even student) pilot flying into the airport to watch the event.

Aero-Note: The late Greg Poe, who passed away several days ago after a heart attack, was remembered in a memorial service that was held this week in in his beloved state of Idaho. The following Aero-TV story was played during the service and we hope that his friends and famiily understood through it how greatly we respected and admired Greg... and how much we're going to miss him.
