Microsoft Flight Simulator Set For Launch

Will Be Ready August 18 For PC, Also With XBOX Game Pass For PC

The lonmg awaited update to the nearly legendary Microsoft Flight Simulator launches on August 18. And it can't come too soon for the thousands who have been awaiting this version. MFS developers note that they, "...have been thrilled and humbled by the support and dedication that has fueled the Flight Sim community for the past 38 years. Since the launch of the very first Microsoft Flight Simulator in 1982, we knew it was finally the right time to develop the next-generation version of Microsoft Flight Simulator. We have the right tools, technology, partners, and hardware to release the most realistic and authentic flight simulator to date."

From 2019: Flight Design Debuts New Models At AirVenture

Flight Design introduced its new F-Series airplanes at AirVenture 2019. Flight Design president, Tom Peghiny, told Aero-TV’s Tom Patton that the aircraft will be certified under Part 23 as well as an SLSA. The F-2 will be available with both a Rotax 912 engine and a Seimens electric motor. Next year, the company hopes to have a 4-place F-2 flying behind a Rotax 915 engine.

LSA Ditches In Gulf of Mexico, Pilot Rescued

The pilot reported that he was conducting a cross country flight and departed the airport with slightly less than 36 gallons of fuel on board. About 1.5 hours into the flight, he noticed that the fuel tank quantities were dropping rapidly. The engine subsequently lost all power, and he set up for a ditching in the Gulf of Mexico. After ditching, the pilot and passenger were picked up by a U.S. Navy helicopter and transported to a local hospital for observation. The airplane eventually sank and was not recovered.
