NTSB Publishes Factual Report on Halladay Icon A5 Crash

The CAP System Was Not Deployed, And The CAP Cockpit Handle Pin Was In Its Installed Position

On November 7, 2017, about 1204 eastern standard time, an Icon Aircraft A5 special light sport amphibious airplane, N922BA, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Clearwater, Florida. The private pilot sustained fatal injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 personal flight. The airplane departed from Island Ford Lake in Odessa, Florida, about 1147. Aeroshell Aerobatic Team Flies Tribute for First Responders, Healthcare Workers

Congressman Takes Part In Flight

The Aeroshell Aerobatic Team performed a flyover of Monroe and West Monroe Louisiana, joined by backseat rider and Congressman Ralph Abraham, M.D. The flight is a tribute to first responders and healthcare workers of the community recently hit by severe storms. On the heels of a similar flyover of Las Vegas last weekend by the USAF Thunderbirds, the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team hoped to encourage the community by utilizing aviation's unique stage and bringing the airplanes overhead to the community of Monroe.
