Overall Appropriation Request Has Swelled To $550 Million
It seems that the $200 million appropriated by the House
Armed Services Committee for three Gulfstream C-37's
ANN reported last week was just the tip of the
iceberg. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Senate is
considering an appropriations bill that includes nearly $550
million.
One Of The Many Treasures Of The Evergreen Air Museum
The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum contains innumerable
treasures. In addition to being the home of the infamous 'Spruce
Goose,' the airplane and helicopter exhibits and the artifact,
research library and archive collections form the core of the
Museum, yet there is a sense in which they are really only
secondary, supportive tools to their mission.
The first of 18 G.222 aircraft to be refurbished and modernized
by Alenia Aeronautica made its initial flight following
re-manufacture at Capodichino airport near Naples, Italy
Thursday.
A WWII era U.S. PBY Catalina which foundered and sank during a
takeoff attempt in 1942 has been discovered by divers off the coast
of Quebec. Five of the nine crewmen on board at the time of the
incident lost their lives.
