Changes In This Year's Application Process Include A Reduction In Total Flight Hours
Application packages for the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School selection board are due by May 27, 2018. The board, set for July 23-25, will consider total force officer and current Air Force civilian applicants to attend training as early as July 2019. Officers may apply to become a test pilot, test combat systems officer or test remotely piloted aircraft pilot.
GA-ASI Sets RPA Industry Record With Help From Worldwide Customers Base
The Predator-series family of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), encompassing Predator, Predator B, Gray Eagle, and Avenger lines, has achieved a historic industry milestone: five million flight hours. The milestone was achieved on April 4, with 360,311 total missions completed and more than 90 percent of all missions flown in combat.
Rockwell Collins has been awarded multiple repair contracts by the U.S. Air Force to support Global Air Traffic Management (GATM) components on the entire KC-135 tanker fleet. These contracts, valued at approximately $27 million over the next five years, will keep the aircraft flying and in compliance with Communication, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) mandates.
Officials with the USAF 49th Wing have announced plans for an open house at Holloman Air Force Base are underway. The one-day event is free to the public and scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2018. This is the first open house since 2014.
