Says $50 Million F-22 Appropriation Aimed At Saving Money

Defense John Young stood his ground before a House subcommittee
that grilled him for nearly three hours Wednesday over funding
allocated for the F-22 Raptor... and emerged absolutely
victorious.
About 800 Job Cuts Planned, Some Will Receive Notices

The tough times continue for aerospace workers in Wichita. On
Wednesday, Boeing announced plans to cut approximately 800
positions at its Integrated Defense Systems facility in the Kansas
community during 2009. Boeing attributed the reductions to the end
of some programs and the delay in the US Air Force
tanker-replacement program.

Hawker Beechcraft awarded a contract by the United States Air
Force (USAF) this week for 23 extended-range (ER) special mission
Beechcraft King Air 350ER turboprops. The estimated value of the
contract is $171 million, and calls for deliveries to take place in
2009.
