The Bell Boeing Program Office has announced that it was awarded
Phase I of a two-phase Joint Performance Based Logistics contract
from Naval Air Systems Command in support of the US Marine Corps
and the US Air Force Special Operations Command to support the V-22
Osprey tiltrotor aircraft. The contract award was announced by the
US Department of Defense on January 22.
May Come As Late As April, Though 'Topline' Number May Be
Released Sooner
Those hoping for some kind of resolution to the ongoing
budgetary fight over such programs as
the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II joint strike
fighter will have to wait a bit longer. President
Barack Obama's 2010 defense budget request will be delayed,
possibly until April, White House and Defense Department officials
said Monday.
