MyGoFlight Acquires Flight Flix, LLC

MyGoFlight, the maker of cockpit-mounts, cases, flight-bags, and accessories for aviators, announced on 28 June 2023 that it had acquired Minnesota-based, Flight Flix, LLC, a provider of external (aircraft) camera mounting solutions for aviation enthusiasts. The acquisition will broaden MyGoFlight’s product offerings and provide its customers means by which to supplement their enjoyment of flying.

ZeroAvia, the British/American hydrogen-electric aircraft developer, announced on 19 June 2023 that it has identified clear applications for hydrogen-electric, zero-emission propulsion for regional jet aircraft. A technical study conducted in cooperation with MHIRJ—a joint venture of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Bombardier’s CRJ program—determined Bombardier’s CRJ-700 is an excellent candidate for retrofit with ZeroAvia’s ZA 2000RJ powertrain.

FAA Green-Lights Joby Flight Testing Campaign

A New Chapter in the Book of Joby

Joby Aviation, the Toyota-backed designer and builder of electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft, announced that it has received FAA approval to commence flight-testing of its eVTOL air-taxi. The Santa Cruz, California-based company set forth the FAA had granted a Special Airworthiness Certificate by which Joby is authorized to undertake a flight-testing campaign—sans passengers—of its first production prototype.
