Six associations representing the general aviation industry have issued a statement strongly opposing the Trump Administration for including in its government reorganization proposal a failed idea to privatize the FAA's air traffic control services.
GEO 5 Joins WAAS, A GPS Signal Error Correcting Network
The FAA's Geosynchronous Earth Orbiting 5 Wide Area Augmentation System navigation payload, developed by Raytheon's Intelligence, Information and Services business, is now operational and fully integrated into the WAAS network. The GEO 5 payload joins two others already on orbit in correcting GPS satellite signal ionospheric disturbances, timing issues, and minor orbit adjustments, giving users increased coverage, improved accuracy, and better reliability.
An AL250 simulator has been purchased by Adventure Aviation in Alberta, Canada. The AL250 will include a real Garmin GTN 650. It will complement the schools fleet of Cessna 172’s, including a 172S Nav III, as well as a Piper twin.
