ACR Electronics Launches ARTEX ELT 4000M

Alkaline-Battery-Powered Unit Offers Hassle-Free Reliability

ACR Electronics has introduced its ARTEX ELT 4000M, a transport-grade 406 MHz approved Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) operating on homing frequencies of 243 and 121.5 MHz. The device is powered by a patented alkaline-based solution exempt from provisos the likes of those the FAA has prescribed for non-rechargeable lithium batteries. Production units of the new ELT—which has received Cospas-Sarsat, FAA, and EASA certification—are currently shipping.

NTSB Prelim: Remos Aircraft GMBH Remos GX

Student Pilot Reported That He Was Conducting His Second Solo Flight In The Accident Airplane

On April 18, 2023, about 0745 mountain standard time, a Remos GX airplane, N21GX, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Glendale, Arizona. The student pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 instructional flight. The student pilot reported that he was conducting his second solo flight in the accident airplane and planned to stay in the traffic pattern at the Glendale Municipal Airport (GEU), Glendale, Arizona, for about an hour.
