Pilatus Delivers 2,000th PC-12

Historic Aircraft Handed Over to PlaneSense

Renowned for the outstanding aircraft it produces for both niche and mainstream markets, Swiss aerospace manufacturer Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. announced on 12 May 2023 that it had delivered the two-thousandth specimen of its popular PC-12 single-engine turboprop. The anniversary aircraft was allotted to PlaneSense—the Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based fractional aircraft ownership concern—by way of symbolic thanks for the company’s long-standing loyalty to the Pilatus marque.

EAA Updates Oshkosh Procedures

Changes to Arrivals, Departures, and Schedules to be Reviewed in June 14 Webinar

The EAA has announced a few FAA-approved changes in the AirVenture Oshkosh 2023 arrival & departure procedures. The most noticeable changes will include a change in the ultralight pattern at Wittman Regional Airport, revised guidance for parking areas in the North and South 40, Elimination of the "Fond du Lac" diversion procedure, and some slight changes to air show schedules. The procedures will be in effect from Thursday, July 20th through noon on Monday, July 31st. To help newcomers, the EAA will hold a webinar on June 14th at 1900 hrs CDT to go over the notice. Future & Active Pilot Advisors (FAPA) is a Nevada-based organization about the noble work of providing career and financial advice to professional pilots at all stages of their careers—from first paying cockpit gig to retirement and beyond. On 11 May 2023, FAPA announced its Second Annual Pilot Retirement Event—a recruitment initiative undertaken for purpose of addressing the ostensible shortage of pilots in certain sectors of the aviation industry. In addition to its Pilot Job Fair for journeyman aviators FAPA will host a Future Pilot Seminar for aspiring flyers.

Archer Rolls Out First Midnight eVTOL

Ground Testing Imminent

On 28 March 2023, Archer Aviation, the California-based designer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, announced that its eVTOL, dubbed Midnight, had recently completed a six-week series of tests in RUAG’s Large Subsonic Wind Tunnel in Emmen, Switzerland. On 11 May, the company set forth it had completed final assembly of the first full-scale Midnight aircraft and shipped the machine from Archer’s Palo Alto facility to its Salinas flight test installation, where a ground-testing campaign is to be presently embarked upon.

NTSB Releases Final Report on October 2022 Aeronca 7AC Accident

Reverse Engineering

The NTSB has released its final report on a 02 October 2022 accident in which the pilot of a 1946 Aeronca 7AC, registration N3005E, was seriously injured and the airplane substantially damaged following a mishap since attributed to faulty aircraft maintenance.
