“Dronetag BS” Strikes Bold Marketing Figure With Aggressive Introduction

Dronetag has announced their “Dronetag BS” system as a cost-effective method to bring consumer UAVs into Remote ID compliance. Dronetag BS is, of course, short for “Dronetag Basic Solution”, though the company is sure to draw in some eyes with their brash take on the normally staid UAV market. The firm will offer Dronetag BS for an introductory price of $49 upon its May 22 drop date, offering the special for the first 24 hours of its release. For those that miss the intro rate, the standard retail price will remain at $89.

Mid-Continent Instruments is Moving to Chatsworth, California

Avionics Manufacturer Makes a Short Hop to a New Home

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics announced a change from its current Van Nuys, California locale to a new one in Chatsworth, 10 miles away. The change will see the firm leaving its aged Van Nuys facility for an expanded, more capable location with a little extra breathing room. The firm stressed that customers will see no changes on their end, all order fulfillment, warranty work, and communication will continue unchanged while things are shuffled around into their new home.

NTSB Prelim: Helicopteres Guimbal Cabri G2

Examination Of The Flight Control System Revealed A Pin Used For The Removal Of The Cyclic Was Not In Place

On April 9, 2023, at 0845 central daylight time, a Helicopteres Guimbal Cabri G2, N372PA, was involved in an accident near Cahokia, Illinois. The helicopter sustained substantial damage. The flight instructor received minor injuries and the student pilot was uninjured. The helicopter was operated under Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as an instructional flight. The flight instructor stated that during the approach for landing at the departure airport, his cyclic had “a little bit of play,” and the helicopter was not responding “fully” to his control inputs.
