Looking for a flying job? The FAA may have a gig just for you! The FAA is hiring Operations Aviation Safety Inspectors and is offering several hiring incentives to entry level (defined as GS-9/11/12) candidates. To qualify, in addition to meeting all basic and medical requirements, applicants must demonstrate in their application and/or resume at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG-9, FG-11, or FG-12 level.

Aircraft 'Weathervaned' on Landing, Nosed over

The pilot in the tailwheel-equipped biplane had completed a banner tow flight and had dropped the banner at its designated location. He subsequently entered the traffic pattern and approached to land with a right crosswind. During the landing roll, the airplane weathervaned, exited the right side of the runway and entered the soft grass surface that bordered the runway. The airplane nosed over and sustained substantial damage to the left upper wing, the vertical stabilizer and the rudder.
