Snowbird CO Issues Statement on Kamloops Tragedy

At approximately 11:45 a.m. on May 17, 2020, shortly after take-off from Kamloops Airport, Snowbird 11, a Canadian Forces Snowbirds CT-114 Tutor, crashed into a nearby neighbourhood. The New England Air Museum will be reopening its five acre outdoor grounds for Memorial Day Weekend. Visitors will have an opportunity to see ten aircraft outside, peek inside exhibit hangars through open hangar doors, and even get a behind-the-scenes look into the museum's storage hangar, a space that is rarely open to the public. The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all 328 Support Services GmbH Model 328-300 airplanes. This AD was prompted by a determination that new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations are necessary. This AD requires revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. DATES: This AD is effective June 22, 2020.
