The board of directors of the General Aviation Manufacturers
Association (GAMA) has recognized two members of congress who have
been unwavering general aviation (GA) advocates: Senator Byron
Dorgan (D-ND) and Representative Vernon Ehlers (R-MI).
The NBAA welcomed a resolution passed by the U.S. House of
Representatives Wednesday, recognizing the entire general aviation
community, including business aviation, in efforts to provide
relief for the people of Haiti, following the devastating January
12 earthquake that struck the island nation.

Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) has sent a letter to FAA
Administrator Randy Babbitt saying the agency should "immediately
suspend" testing of new GA IFR departure procedures at Santa Monica
airport (KSMO).
