In the waning days of the Florida legislative session, The
Florida Senate passed House Bill 173, which exempts visiting
aircraft from the state's use tax. Passage of the bill came Friday,
and with Governor Charlie Crist's expected signature, it will take
effect in July.

in 1990, Women in Aviation, International is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of

Two U.S. Senators Introduce Resolution Applauding GA
It's no secret that GA pilots can be counted on to help in times
of crisis. Such was the case in the aftermath of Haiti's
devastating earthquake, and U.S. Senators Mark Begich (D-AK) and
Mike Johanns (R-NE) have introduced a resolution formally
recognizing the contributions of general aviators to relief
efforts.
