Signers Support Rule Change Regarding How Votes Are Counted In
Union Organizing Elections
A total of 178 Members of Congress signed a letter to the
National Mediation Board Monday in support of a rule change
regarding the way votes are counted in union organizing elections
for aviation and railroad workers.
It's another chapter in the seemingly never-ending saga of the
FAA re-authoriztion bill. With a voice vote Tuesday, the House of
Representatives approved HR 4217 to extend current Federal aviation
programs and taxes through the end of March, 2010.
FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt announced the formation of an
independent review panel Tuesday that will examine the November 19,
2009 outage of the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI). The
group of experts will survey the FTI's architecture and recommend
any immediate or future changes.
Third Time In 10 Years Jacksonville Controllers Actions
Questioned
The daughters of a couple killed when their charter flight went
down short of the Gainesville, Florida airport in November of last
year have sued the FAA, saying Jacksonville air traffic controllers
did not properly do their jobs in relation to the accident.
