Amanda Harrison of Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, U.K. has always loved airplanes, a love instilled by her father when she was just a young girl. Amanda took her first flying lesson at 14, left school at 15, and finally qualified for a pilot's license at 24.
Originally designed for use by military forces, SEI Industries’ High- Pressure Aviation Refueling System (HPARS) is now available for commercial use. The first company to purchase an HPARS has decided to use it in a mining application on Baffin Island in Canada’s far north.
John Travolta, the “Official Ambassador of Aviation,” will host of the 12th Annual “Living Legends of Aviation Awards,” which will be held at the Beverly Hilton ballroom on January 16, 2015. This year’s awards are being dedicated to Bob Hoover, the first inductee of the “Living Legend of Aviation.” The Legends are celebrating Bob’s 93rd birthday along with special guests attending to honor this famous Legend.
