Chandelle is meant to be a forum for original essays, reviews,
photographs, and artwork related, however loosely, to the less
familiar aspects of the history of aviation. It is published 3
times per year on the World Wide Web, by amateurs (in the original
sense of the term) for amateurs, and is made available for private
study without charge.
Natural, silica-rich, homogeneous glasses produced by complete
melting, and dispersed as droplets during terrestrial impact
events. Tektites range in color from black or dark brown to gray or
green and most are spherical in shape. They have been found in four
regional deposits or strewn fields on the Earth's surface: North
America, Czechoslovakia, Ivory Coast and Australasia.
