Russian 737 Reported Down Early Sunday

Aeroflot Nord Flight Lists 75 Pax, 6 Crew -- ALL Feared Dead

ANN is receiving early reports of a Russian Boeing 737 crash in Western Russia.The Aeroflot Nord flight was reported to be enroute to Perm, from Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport, and lost communications with the local tower at approximately 0310 local time. Landing was scheduled for 0330.

Mass Layoffs Hit Alaska Air

Alaska Airlines Reduces Capacity 8 Percent; Trims Work Force 9 Percent To 10 Percent  

Alaska Airlines has announced that it is reducing capacity 8 percent compared to a year ago, effective with its winter schedule starting Nov. 9 and continuing into 2009. As a result, Alaska Airlines is reducing its work force by 9 percent to 10 percent.
